Macro photography

This photo is of a small patch of grass among some rocks. I had a hard time getting the grass in focus with my phone camera. The rocks right behind the grass are in focus. The green of the grass contrasts with the black and brown of the rocks.

This photo is of a branch of a tree. The sunlight is coming from the left and creates interesting shadows. The background of the photo is out of focus.

This photo is of a bench at school. The bench has a grid pattern. The background is out of focus. The light creates shadows in the holes of the grid pattern.

Real Birds

In a Tree

In a Drainpipe

On the Roof

The first photo is a photo of a bird in a tree. It is a little fuzzy because the zoom on my camera isn't very good. The sunlight is coming from behind the tree. The tree branches fill the negative space with  tangled lines.
The second photo is of two birds sitting in a drainpipe. The bricks of the wall form a pattern. The birds are in the center of the photo. The shadow of a tree is on the top of the photo. The shadow of a lamp is underneath the drainpipe.
The third photo is of a bird on the roof of a building. Tree branches fill up the negative space in the top of the photo.

Light

This photo is of a shadow puppet. Because of the darkness of the photo, there is a lot of noise around the shadow.

This photo is of light coming in through two windows. The bars of light are parallel to each other, but not to the top and bottom borders of the photo. If I were to take this photo again, I would focus it more to make the edges of the shadow more crisp.

This photo was taken on a stage behind two background panels. The colored stage lights come in through the crack at different angles, creating one bright white line in the center, one dim white line to the left, and one red line to the right. The lines of light illuminate the lines between the wooden floorboards on the stage.

Photography Quizzes 3/14/2016

I took the photography test on nerdtests.com. I got all ten questions correct. There were a few I didn't know that I guessed on.
I took the quiz on bright hub.com. I got 17 out of 22 questions correct. This one had a lot of questions that I didn't know the answers to. I just guessed on those and some I got right and some I got wrong.

Lonely Tree

This photo is of three friends hanging out by a tree. In the background, there is another tree standing all alone. Both of the trees have crooked branches that create interesting lines across the top of the photograph.

This tree is all alone in the corner. It is different from the trees in the previous photograph because it is straight. Only two of the branches shoot out to the side. The shadow created from the wall creates a line between the light and dark, creating a cool effect where part of the tree is shaded and part is not.

This tree is alone by a building. One side of the tree is blooming, and the other side is not. The tree's shadow can be seen on the wall behind it and the ground below.

People hard at work

Geometry

Literature

AP Psychology

This week, I took photos of people working hard on class assignments.
The first photo is of someone working on geometry homework. His pencil is a little blurry because he was writing.
The second picture is of two students working on homework in their English/Literature class. The book they are reading is The Great Gatsby. The boy is wearing a black leather jacket. The wall behind him is white, creating some contrast that makes him stand out.
The third photo is of someone working on an experiment for AP Psychology in the courtyard. The curved lines of her hair contrast with the square lines on her shirt. There is some texture in the grass.

Personification of an Inanimate Object

Reading Glasses

Smiling Dolphin

Eating Mouse

The first photo is of a pair of glasses that appear to be reading a book. The words appear warped in the lens of the glasses. A  few of them are reflected on the bottom of the lens.
The second photo is of a dolphin bridge. The lines of the ukulele strings are reflected in the paint of the ukulele. One of the strings is bent out of place at the bottom where they are tied together.
The third photo os of a computer mouse appearing to eat a little piece of a granola bar. The lights reflect off of the mouse's shell, creating four parallel lines on its back.
